SARAH SNOOK A SUCCESS STORY

Since 2018, Adelaide-born actress Sarah Snook, 35, has played ruthless heiress Siobhan "Shiv" Roy in the dramedy Succession, about the machinations of a family-run media dynasty. And despite having reservations about the character when she first read the script, she says she's developed a soft spot for the cold-blooded power player. "She's very different from me," Snook has told Harper's Bazaar. "I do like her - I have to like her. I love her. And I've learned a lot from her."

Actor Matthew Macfadyen, who plays her once-devoted husband Tom Wambsgans, has credited Snook's skills for being able to give the character humanity. "She's got this amazing ability to harness the great sadness and rage that Shiv has," he says.
