Four Australian breweries that go against the grain
SETTING THE BAR HIGH

While breweries are often known for attracting offduty tradies and bearded men in flannel shirts, local watering holes can be stylish and welcoming for members of any crowd.

Whether you're looking for beachy interiors or a completely female-run establishment, we've got the Aussie breweries to grab a stool at on your next day out!

FLAMIN' GALAH BREWING CO JERVIS BAY, NSW

Though the galahs of Jervis Bay might have a reputation for being a noisy pest, this is one local establishment that pays homage to these colourful feathered locals instead.

Husband and wife duo Sam and Claire Hewson have decked out their four-year-young brewhouse and distillery with a bright pink decor that pairs nicely with their selection of award-winning pink tinnies. As this coastal institution is also a distillery, you can also expect a range of mouth-watering cocktails (did someone say watermelon margaritas?) and seltzers.

If a day of drinking renders you peckish, we recommend ordering a serving of pork dumplings and crispy chicken bao buns from the on-brand and on-site food truck, The Nest.
