You'll Win some, lose some

In the last decade, the new golden age of television has seen countless Hollywood A-listers being lured from the silver screen, adding serious star power and immeasurable influence to productions. The latest actor making the move to the small screen is Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne, who leads the cast of The Day of the Jackal.

Adapted from Frederick Forsyth's novel, this contemporary reimagining of the 1973 film presents a more well-rounded Jackal (Redmayne) a hotshot assassin and master of disguise tasked with taking out a tech billionaire (Khalid Abdalla), while keeping his career a secret from his wife (Úrsula Corberó) and son. Not the easiest thing to do while in a deadly game of cat and mouse with a tenacious British intelligence officer (Lashana Lynch) who is determined to apprehend him.

With filming taking him all over Europe - beginning in Budapest in June 2023, before heading to Vienna and Croatia - he and wife of almost a decade Hannah Bagshawe, 41, made the decision he would go alone, so that children Iris, 8, and Luke, 6, wouldn't have their schooling disrupted.
