A terrifying new character joins Sky Atlantic’s Gangs of London this week as the ultra-violent drama returns for a second bone-crunching season.
As viewers are introduced to a new Algerian gang operating on the streets, it transpires that someone is selling guns without the permission of the people who run the London underworld. To find the guilty party, Pakistani Mob boss Mr Afridi Asif Raza Mir) brings in terrifying enforcer Koba, who introduces himself by forcing one of the Algerians to swallow bullets.
‘Koba has been brought in to restore order in London,‘ explains Waleed Zuaiter, who plays the sinister new character. His vision is a dictatorship, and he has a mandate that everything must go through him?
Zuaiter, who earned a BAFTA nomination for his role in C4 series Baghdad Central, says he loved playing Koba, complete with his bleached hair, pork-pie hat and quiet air of menace.
