DI Annika Strandhed (Nicola Walker) could hardly have chosen a worse moment to tell her colleague DS Michael McAndrews (Jamie Sives) that he is the father of her teenage daughter – breaking the news from the stage at a comedy club during an open-mike night, causing a stunned Michael to walk out of the gig.
Despite that inauspicious start, the pair have since reached a mutual understanding and Michael has begun taking more of a fatherly interest in Morgan (Silvie Furneaux), even though she doesn’t yet know their connection.
