Nick Knowles’ Amazing Railway Adventure
Friday, 8pm, Channel 5
Following in the train tracks of the likes of Chris Tarrant and Michael Portillo, Nick Knowles becomes the latest celebrity to embark on a railway-based TV travelogue, travelling to the likes of Peru, Mexico, Alaska and Malaysia in a new six-part Channel 5 series.
This week’s first trip sees the 60-year-old journey across Peru, sampling Peruvian produce, meeting local people and learning about the country’s rich history.
Stopping off at Lake Titicaca, Knowles takes to the water to visit the amazing floating islands that pre-Incan tribe the Uru constructed to escape the invaders.
