RICK STEIN’S FOOD STORIES
MONDAY-FRIDAY, 6.30PM, BBC2 TRAVELOGUE (BOX SET, BBC iPLAYER)
Rick Stein is delighted to be embarking on a cookery adventure around the UK to discover the tales behind some of our favourite foods for a new BBC2 travelogue.
Over the course of the 15-part series, the popular chef will meet culinary pioneers putting their own twists on classics as well as producers bringing new flavours and tastes to our plates. Each episode will also see Rick whipping up mouth-watering dishes inspired by his travels from the comfort of his home kitchen in Padstow, Cornwall.
‘I’ve been a chef for over 50 years and the whole UK has transformed food-wise in terms of cooking dishes from all round the world,’ says Rick, 77.
‘I’ve come to realise that the food we eat tells a story about who we are. So I’m on a mission to find out what we all like to eat today, from our traditional dishes to those we’ve made our own. I’ll also see how food brings us together.’
Here, Rick, who has shared his passion for food on TV since the 1980s, tells us more…
