THE GENTLEMEN NEW FROM THURSDAY 7 MARCH, NETFLIX DRAMA
Dust off the top-shelf whisky, as Guy Ritchie plunges viewers into a heady mix of bitter battles, dangerous deals and tailored tweed in Netflix’s glossy gangster saga The Gentlemen.
Showing a new slice of the world created in his hit 2020 film of the same name, the eightpart series marks the first foray into TV for the acclaimed film director, whose silver-screen credits include Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998), Snatch (2000) and Sherlock Holmes (2009).
The plot centres around Eddie Horniman (played by Sanditon star Theo James), who is stunned to learn that he, not elder brother Freddy (The Gold’s Daniel Ings), has inherited their father’s sprawling country estate.
HEIR-RAISING DISCOVERIES
But as he takes the title of the new Duke of Halstead, Eddie discovers that his dad was balancing the books by allowing East End career criminal Bobby Glass (Beowulf ’s Ray Winstone) and his daughter Susie (Skins star Kaya Scodelario) to use the property as a front for their drugs empire.
