WELCOME TO WREXHAM NEW FROM WED 13 SEPT, DISNEY+ FACTUAL (RELEASED WEEKLY)

Fans of non-league Welsh football team Wrexham AFC couldn't believe their luck when the club was bought by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in 2020. But, as documented in series one of Disney+'s sports documentary Welcome to Wrexham, the first full season under the new owners saw the club snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, as they lost the FA Trophy final and a promotion play-off semi-final.

As we rejoin the action for the critical 2022-23 season, it's make or break for the Red Dragons and their celebrity owners, who are waiting to hear whether the club will receive funding to rebuild the Kop stand at the historic Racecourse Ground the world's oldest international football stadium - that's in urgent need of renovation.

BUILDING FOR SUCCESS

*The delays in funding put us at risk of falling behind schedule, and we need to have the new stand built for the 2024-25 season, explains Deadpool star Ryan, 46. So we decided to pay for the demolition ourselves, and began tearing it down."
