Dr Qin Huilan stands out as an example of creative freedom in an environment where conformity prevails. Fearlessly challenging the status quo, she captivates our attention with her daring fashion choices. "Being on the 'OFFICIEL cover means more than just recognition for me," the Guangxi-born 70-year-old retired doctor says. "It's an opportunity to showcase myself and inspire others. 'This recognition pushes me to work harder and embrace new challenges."

A big occasion came knocking when Dr Qin received an invitation on Instagram to walk the runway for the Miu Miu Autumn/Winter 2024 show in Paris. "Even days after receiving the invitation, I couldn't shake the feeling that it might all be a dream," she admits with gratitude. "I'm incredibly thankful to Miu Miu for giving me this unforgettable experience. Nervous yet proud, Dr Qin confidently took her first steps on the runway, feeling accomplished in her own right.

Reflecting on a chance encounter last December, Dr Qin fondly recalls meeting Miuccia Prada. "I saw her from a distance when she visited Pradasphere II in Shanghai," she reminisces. "During the fitting, I had the pleasure of seeing her again. Elegant and stylish as ever, I greeted her and expressed my admiration. She made my day by telling me she enjoyed seeing me dress in my Prada and Miu Miu outfits." Introduced to the Italian labels by her son, Dr Qin shares that she's most taken by their timeless designs which effortlessly blend surprising details with a subtle touch of restraint.
