When the new Louis Vuitton Escale (pronounced és·kal) was launched, it was something we didn’t quite expect. Given the brand’s previous penchant for more, shall we say, exhibitionist watches, a pared-down dress watch really caught us by surprise. However, it should have been expected given that the new direction for their watch collection, spearheaded by the very young Jean Arnault, aims to bring a more subtle approach to their watchmaking as evidenced by the sleeker, and sexier version of the Tambour.
