About to flip the switch on your central heating? With energy bills set to soar this winter, finding other ways to warm up makes sense. The good news is there are plenty of healthy steps you can take to stay toasty. Here's what will help you fight the chill.

1 SIP SPICES

Swap your usual cuppa for a hot, spicy brew. 'Warming spices can help support you this winter,' says nutritionist Jessica Sepel. 'Make a heated nut milk drink with cinnamon, or a fresh ginger tea. Add chopped ginger root to a saucepan of water, bring to the boil and simmer for up to 10 minutes. Strain and add honey or lemon to taste.
