How did you become involved with this project? Word of mouth. The couple bought this apartment in the beautiful Beckford Tower by renowned architects Studio Sofield and asked me to transform the interiors. What were the challenges of the space and how did you resolve them? There weren’t too many hurdles.
The biggest challenge was how to marry a sitting room with the lounge room concept they wanted. It’s a problem we often encounter in apartment living when there’s limited space. To serve both purposes, we went with furniture that was comfortable yet elevated such as Arf lex’s ‘Marenco’ sofa with an ottoman for propping up your legs. What was the starting point for the interiors? When the clients came to me they were expecting their first child, so we started with the baby’s room.
