Volkswagen Virtus Long-term Report: Finale

The Virtus’ efficiency and performance impress us as it comes to the end of its stint in the MW Garage

The Volkswagen Virtus is a car that loves taking on corners. It is well supported by the 1.0-litre turbo petrol unit on board likes to rev, and there's more than enough shove to have some fun behind the wheel. But this performance doesn't come at the expense of fuel economy. Over the past few months, I have driven it extensively. Heavy traffic in the city, highway jaunts, late-night coffee runs - you name it and the Virtus has done it all. I consistently got more than 10 kmpl in city driving even with some pretty bad traffic to contend with. That's really good in isolation, but especially so when you consider that the Virtus is powered by a 3-cylinder turbo-petrol motor.
