GO BEYOND BALI AND PREPARE TO BE DAZZLED BY WONDROUS WILDLIFE AND IDYLLIC ISLANDS
Discovering KOMODO ISLAND

The magnetic pull of our favourite Indonesian holiday isle, Bali, shows no signs of slowing. However, as longtime visitors begin to suffer from 'been there, done that' fatigue, there's another nearby contender for a fun, tropical vacay - one that pairs stunning scenery with bucket list wildlife encounters.

Introducing Komodo National Park: a cluster of small islands, the largest being Komodo, Rinca and Padar. This UNESCO World Heritage area is a quick hour's hop from Denpasar, making it the perfect add-on to any Bali break. Here's why...

MEET REAL-LIFE DRAGONS

For big and little dinosaur fans alike, this Indonesian archipelago is as close to a real-life Jurassic Park experience as you can get, given that it's home to 'modern-day dinosaurs' the Komodo Dragon.

The largest living species of lizard on earth, reaching up to three metres in length and more than 70 kilograms, these fierce predators regularly clock up human victims and are known for their toxic bite and deadly speed.

One of the 'seven new wonders of nature', the small population of critters can only be found within the Komodo National Park and the surrounding islands.

Although awesome to see, visitors are urged to keep their distance and always be accompanied by a ranger they can look docile but they're fast and often hungry!
