Arguably the most futuristic robotic lawn mower money can buy, the Luba 2 uses pinpoint accurate RTK GPS, a bank of sensors and a front-mounted HD camera to guide it around a sward without ever venturing off into the rhododendrons or falling into the fish pond.

The Luba 2 AWD 1,000 is good for lawns up to 1,000 square metres; two other models - 3,000m sq and 5,000m sq - will cover larger swathes.

Military-spec RTK GPS robot mowers like this require a modicum of setup but it's an easy (and enjoyable) process. They also require unimpeded line of sight to about 20 satellites to navigate lawns to within a few centimetres of accuracy.
