The Reform UK leader turned theatrics up to the maximum as he walked through the throng accompanied to Eminem's Guess Who's Back, before firework sparklers erupted on stage as he received a standing ovation.

Having promised a big announcement, Mr Farage revealed that Reform UK's presence in the area had grown that evening after four councillors - elected as Conservatives in 2023 - were defecting to his insurgent party.

Mr Farage boldly predicted that, by next week, his party will be comfortably in second place in the opinion polls, having already drawn level or overtaken the Conservatives with a couple of pollsters.

He also received enthusiastic support when claiming that his plan is to present Reform UK as a valid party of Government by 2029.

Mr Farage warned: "The time has come to stand up and say, on this and many other issues, you are ignoring the will of the people, you are ignoring the silent majority, and the time has come to say enough is enough." He told the crowd: "With your help we will once again change the future of British history."
