A NEIGHBOUR has said she was not at all surprised to hear Eileen Teeton tried to drag a knifeman off her Army officer husband Mark.
And it was revealed the brave couple are steeped in the military life of the quiet community where they live. Lt Col Teeton raised nearly £3,000 for veterans weeks before he was stabbed multiple times outside his home.
Eileen, who has been part of a military wives choir, rushed to his aid as shocked residents looked on. The neighbour said: "As soon as I heard the wife jumped on him to save her husband, I immediately thought of her. I didn't know it was her, but she came to mind.
"Lovely lady. She was always popping into the community centre, doing stuff." Lt Col Teeton last night remained in hospital in a serious but stable condition after the horror attack while he was in uniform near Brompton Barracks at Gillingham, Kent.
