FORMER Holby City star Laila Rouass is swapping her surgical scrubs for the rub-a-dub after scoring a role in EastEnders.
The 53-year-old will start a guest stint on the BBC soap early next month, playing new character Ayesha.
And the East Londoner has already been pictured in the Queen Vic pub in preparation for the role.
Laila, who has been a fan of the soap since she was a teen, said: “I cannot tell you how excited I am to be in EastEnders.
“I was born in the East End and grew up there, and there was such a buzz when the show started.
