SHY Helen Worth had wanted to slip away after filming her last scenes as Gail, the Coronation Street character she has played for 50 years.

But Jack P Shepherd, screen son David Platt since 2000, reveals there were hundreds of people in the studio when the director called "Cut!" on that exit scene, to be shown on Christmas Day.
