THE controversial cull of badgers to combat disease in cattle will be stopped at last, the government has vowed.
Over 210,000 have been killed in England in a decade-long cull to fight bovine tuberculosis.
But the effectiveness of the scheme - which has killed half of the UK population, according to the Badger Trust - is highly contested by scientists and animal welfare organisations.
