KAMALA Harris has issued a rallying cry as she bids to become US President.
In a message to supporters, she tweeted: "Together, we're going to win this." It is highly likely that Vice President Harris will be the Democrats candidate to take on Donald Trump at the election in November.
Ms Harris paid tribute to Joe Biden as she made her first appearance since he abandoned his re-election bid.
At an event on the White House lawn, she said his legacy in the top job is "unmatched in modern history".
She argued that in one term he has achieved more than many two-term presidents.
Ms Harris said: "I'm [a] witness that every day, our President Joe Biden fights for the American people. We're deeply grateful for his service to our nation." She was speaking to college athletes at the event which Mr Biden, 81, could not attend as he is isolating with Covid.
Ms Harris, 59, said the previous day that she hopes to be the party's candidate.
