ACTOR Matt Smith says he would love to buy Blackburn Rovers.
The former Doctor Who star, 41, said he would like to mirror Hollywood A-lister Ryan Reynolds at Wrexham and become Rovers' next owner. Matt wanted to be a footballer before turning to acting and "dreams of buying the club on a daily basis".
He said: "If I could buy Blackburn and had the money, I know it's squandering it, I would do it in a heartbeat."
Matt, whose father David is from Blackburn, grew up in Northampton but has been a supporter of the Blue and Whites since he was a boy.
Blackburn were Premier League champions in 1995 but lie 17th in the second tier. Matt said he would love to restore the side to its former glory.
He told the Headliners podcast: "We've got a great history and it's a great club and I'm very proud to be a fan. All the London games I try and stick my head in there." The India-based VH Group took&nbsp;over the club in 2010 in a &pound;43million deal.
Matt said he would happily team up with actors to buy Rovers but added: "[Reynolds has] got a billion in the bank that's how he's managed to do it.
"I'm not sure [Tom] Cruise is looking to&nbsp;invest in the North."
