A TORY MP has been branded a hypocrite after criticising the early release of offenders - while blocking a new jail on his doorstep.
Ex-minister Neil O'Brien pushed back against the facility plans yet attacked Labour for its emergency steps to ease prison overcrowding.
On his website last month he called on Labour to "roll out emergency prison places" and "to do more to find the money for more places".
