MORE than 1300 teachers in Scotland I have quit within five years of starting work.
And rising classroom violence has been partly blamed for the exodus.
Willie Rennie, the Scottish Lib Dems' education spokesman, said: "With industrial disputes becoming a regular occurrence and reports of violence in classrooms, I can understand why teaching is not as attractive a career as once was.
The Daily Record has highlighted incidences of teachers coming under attack and unions want the Scottish Government to take action.
Now Scotland's largest teaching union, the EIS, is citing violence among the causes of dropping numbers.
