DANIIL MEDVEDEV made Jannik Sinner suffer and now the Russian wants to put "on fire" Carlos Alcaraz out of rainy Wimbledon.

World No.1 Sinner was left feeling sick as Medvedev gained revenge for his Australian Open defeat under the Centre Court roof.

And instead of the anticipated semi-final between the Italian and the Spaniard, Medvedev will seek more retribution against the defending champion in a repeat of last year's last-four clash.

World No.3 Alcaraz fought back from a set down to beat TommyPaul 5-7 6-4 6-2 6-2. And asked about his rematch with the Russian, Alcaraz said: "He's a great player.

"It's the same semi-final as last year. Hopefully I'm going to get the same result."

Medvedev, meanwhile, when prompted to say what's most special about the French Open champion, said: "Everything.
