2 HELD OVER HOGMANAY GUN HORROR

TWO people have been arrested in connection with the Hogmanay shooting of gangland figure Marc Webley.

Webley was shot in the head minutes before the Bells outside the Anchor Inn on Edinburgh's West Granton Road, and pronounced dead in hospital.

A second man, 39, who was also hit, remains in a serious but stable condition.

Police investigating Webley's death yesterday announced the arrests of a 32-year-old man and a woman aged 25.

Detective Superintendent Graham Grant, of Police Scotland's Major Investigation Team, said: "We'd like to thank the local community for their support and patience.

"There will continue to be an increased police presence in the area.

Footage later emerged which reportedly showed the moment of the arrests by armed police.
