STORM Isha caused travel chaos across Scotland yesterday.

All trains were cancelled from 7pm last night until after this morning’s rush hour as wind speeds hit 90mph.

ScotRail customer operations director Phil Campbell said the decision to close the railway was made for the “safety of customers and staff ”.

He added: “A review of the weather forecasts shows the conditions will be much worse in many areas than earlier fore casts had predicted, which could lead to trees and other debris falling onto the tracks, making conditions unsafe.

“This could lead to trains being trapped on the network.
