THE furious father of a girl who was left for dead in a hit and-run has slammed police for failing to catch the driver.
Jessica Frew, 12, was knocked to the ground by a silver Vauxhall Corsa as she crossed a road.
She was left unconscious in a pool of blood in Wishaw, Lanarkshire, when the driver fled.
The car is believed to have overtaken some stationary vehicles and sped through a red light.
Jessica suffered injuries including a disfigured lip, smashed teeth and cuts and bruises across her body.
She has also experienced night tremors and anxiety since it happened at 4.30pm on April 19.
Her dad Robert, 51, worries that someone else could be hurt or killed by the driver.
