Now Scots band Fairground Attraction are to follow million-selling debut album The First of a Million Kisses with a new recording - 36 years on.
The band, fronted by Eddi Reader, split when Reader and songwriter Mark Nevin fell out.
The group including Simon Edwards and Roy Dodds never released a second album.
Reader confirmed the band will reform and hinted at live dates after the band's reunion tour of Japan, where they have a big base, later this year.
Speaking at the Pavilion theatre, where she was performing at Glasgow music&nbsp;festival Celtic Connections, Reader confirmed that she and Nevin are recording together for the first time in more than three decades.
She said: "I'm going to London to record a new Fairground Attraction song.
"We're going to tour Japan and after we might do some shows here."
The band split in 1989 after&nbsp;reaching No2 in the album charts with The First of a Million Kisses and single Perfect going to No1.
They also won Best Single and Best Album at the Brits.
Reader went solo, winning Best British Female at the Brits.
Nevin became a songwriter for acts including Morrissey.
Reader said: "It's only been a 35-year huff."
