EWEN FERGUSON was reduced to tears after motoring his way to an Open tee time at Royal Troon with BMW International Open success.
And the Scot reckons his game is ready for the links as he gears up for only his second Major appearance, just 40 miles down the road from the Bearsden club he hails from.
Ferguson admits he felt like he was "in a dream" coming down the stretch in Munich as he won by two for a third DP World Tour success.
Having turned 28 on Saturday, it was a double celebration as Ferguson who made his Major debut a year ago at Royal Birkdale found himself unchallenged over the final round, posting 68 to reach 18 under.
Victory in the Bavarian capital secured his place in next week's 152nd Open field, joining top-ranked Bob MacIntyre, Jack MacDonald and amateur Calum Scott at Royal Troon.
