New rules wrecked my deadline-day swoop for a new striker says Erik
FINANCIAL UNFAIR PLAY

ERIK TEN HAG failed to land a frontline striker in January and blamed Financial Fair Play.

The United manager revealed he was unable to chase additional firepower as he could not make space within the budget and keep within the rules.

The Dutchman admits that to add an extra body to his squad, he first needed to off-load.

That proved beyond the club and Ten Hag now says he will now need to be creative' as he chases solutions.

He said: "It's not a secret I wanted an extra striker because with the injury to Anthony Martial we don't have back-up there.

"It was not possible because we have to match the FFP rules. We have Omari Forson, we have Amad Diallo, or of course, we have Marcus Rashford who can play there.
