First Minister backs calls to strip ex-Post Office leader of CBE

The First Minister said yesterday he "understood" why a million people had signed an online petition calling for Paula Vennells to be stripped of her CBE.

The SNP leader also said the idea of offering a mass exoneration to subpostmasters who were wrongly convicted due to faulty accounting systems was "worthy of consideration".

It comes as Rishi Sunak said he would "strongly support" an honours committee if it looked again at the CBE awarded to Vennells.
