'Foreign Office set up to fail people like my brother'

THE Tory Government has been slammed by MPs for its repeated failures to secure the release of detained Scot Jagtar Singh Johal despite allegations of torture.

And his brother Gurpreet said: "The Foreign Office is set up to fail people like Jagtar."

A damning report from the foreign affairs committee yesterday found ministers had been "too slow" or "entirely unwilling to call out guilty countries such as India which arbitrarily detained people like Jagtar.
