A FAR-RIGHT extremist accused of infiltrating local politics has close ties to one of the UK's most notorious fascists.
Simon Crane, 50, claims his involvement in local politics in East Calder, West Lothian, is purely to help the community.
But villagers trying to save GP services fear he wants a foothold for his far-right movement.
Now the Daily Record can reveal Crane has associated with Sam Melia - who faces jail for stirring up race hatred in England.
He was convicted last week at Leeds Crown Court of running a vile online library of downloadable white supremacist stickers.
