A HEARTBROKEN mum whose daughter died after an asthma attack has revealed three of her other children have the devastating condition.
Tracy Bulpitt's oldest child Katy, 12, died on November 2, 2021, after a catastrophic attack.
Tracy is mum to five other children Kallan, 12, Maycee, 10, nine-year-old Charlotte, eight-year-old Carter and Marissa, six. The youngest three all have asthma.
And she is calling on schools to get behind an Asthma + Lung UK Scotland campaign to help spot the first signs of an attack and what to do in an emergency.
With an increase in colds and flu at this time of year, children with the condition can be particularly vulnerable, so the charity and Tracy are keen for schools to take note of signs that children may be having an attack.
Symptoms vary, which is why it's important that teachers are familiar with a child's individual triggers and red flags. These can be shared via the school asthma card.
