CORONATION Street legend Helen Worth has thanked the soap's fans as she bowed out of the show after 50 memorable years on the cobbles.
Last night, viewers saw her character Gail Platt have her Christmas Day happy ending as she married Jesse Chadwick, played by The Fast Show star John Thomson, and bade farewell to her family and friends.
And Helen said of her departure: "It's been a fabulous 50 years, and I just wanted to thank all of you, some of you who may have been watching for 50 years. Is there anybody?
