THE SNP has demanded the resignation of Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle after a key vote on a ceasefire in Gaza turned into a "farce".
The Nationalists' Westminster leader Stephen Flynn said he "no longer has confidence" in Hoyle to carry out his job.
He also asked for a vote so the Speaker can be removed from his role as quickly as possible.
It came after the SNP stormed out of the chamber on Wednesday night when the party's motion demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza was ditched amid chaotic scenes.
Furious Nationalists left after the UK Government said it would not take part in any votes meaning Labour's own amendment calling for a ceasefire was passed by default.
It followed Speaker Hoyle controversially ruling that Sir Keir Starmer's party could propose an amendment on the motion as well as the Government.
Flynn said the SNP's opposition day "ultimately turned into a Labour opposition day".
But Labour's Shadow Scotland Secretary Ian Murray said Hoyle "did the right thing" and that Flynn was only annoyed "because the Tories stitched up the SNP".
Flynn said yesterday: "It descended into farce, Mr Speaker, because of a decision you alone made to ignore the advice that was given to you by clerks.
"In doing so, on the opposition day of the Scottish National Party, my colleagues and I were denied the ability to vote on a matter which is of grave concern to us and which, over recent months, we have sought to raise in this chamber at every available opportunity.
