A FATAL accident inquiry will be held into the death of a baby girl who died at the country’s flagship children’s hospital. 

Sophia Smith, from Greenock, was 11 days old when she passed on at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow of a suspected hospital infection.

Her parents Theresa and Matthew have been battling since for answers.

Yesterday, It was confirmed that a fatal accident inquiry will be held into her death.

However, the Crown Office has decided no criminal charges will be made in relation to Sophia’s death.
