Pubs add sneaky US-style service charge to drinks bills.. whether you like it or not

PUB-GOERS are having a service charge automatically added on drinks bought at the bar in a bid to push up tips for staff.

Scotsman Group, which owns various bars and pubs in Scotland, have introduced a two per cent American-style automatic charge on beverages.

Drinkers buying a pint of Camden Hells Lager at The Grosvenor Cafe in Glasgow would assume it is £5.95, however, customers are charged £6.07.

At The Social in Glasgow, a Pornstar Martini costs £10.71, despite being advertised at £10.50.
