'LONE ACTOR' TERROR FEAR

RADICALISATION poses a threat to the world following the war in the Middle East, a police chief has warned.

Assistant Commissioner Matt Jukes, who leads national counterterrorism policing, said his main concern in the UK was a "low sophistication, lone actor" attack.

He also told how the violence in Gaza and Israel following Hamas's October 7 attacks meant he could not remember a more dangerous time.

Jukes said: "I've not seen the conditions collide in the way we have in the last few months."
