A SPECIALIST drone team searching for Scotland's missing monkey has located him on camera.
BH Wildlife Consultancy and The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland have been trying to trace the Japanese Macaque since he slipped out of his enclosure at the Highland Wildlife Park on Sunday after being spooked by a fight with a rival primate.
The company has been using drones to help locate the macaque and has now shared its first footage of him, near the park, on Tuesday.
Searchers said he was in good health and were trying to safely return him to his home.
Ben Harrower, the owner and founder of BH Wildlife Consultancy, said: "Over the last two days, we have been helping RZSS with their rescue mission to find the missing monkey.
"Despite the sun making it difficult for our thermal imaging to work effectively, we were able to locate the Japanese Macaque in the afternoon. The macaque looks in good health and we will continue to support RZSS and the Highland Wildlife Park to help with the safe return of the monkey.
Villagers in Kincraig, near Aviemore, were stunned after spotting the animal hanging off garden fences while shaking a nut-filled bird feeder on Sunday.
