Murder cops raid home of Marc Webley ex-girlfriend

MURDER cops probing the death of gangster Marc Webley have raided the home of an ex-girlfriend.

A large police presence was spotted at the property of Jodie Steele, 40, in the Granton area of Edinburgh on Thursday afternoon.

It comes after a number of other addresses across the capital were searched in recent weeks following the fatal shooting of Webley, 38, on Hogmanay.

The dad of two was gunned down outside the Anchor Inn on West Granton Road in the city shortly before the Bells.

Jodie, who is also the mother of Webley's two sons, is now understood to be in a relationship with one of his gangland rivals.

In the weeks before his death, Webley recorded a video message to the children he shares with Jodie, telling them he loved them.

Concerned Granton locals witnessed officers scour Jodie's home and garden for about six hours before removing multiple bags of evidence.

They say the mum was nowhere to be seen but that members of her family were present during the search.
