NEW LAW CAN ATTACKS ON OUR BIRDS END

A SWIFT end to attacks on birds of prey has been demanded by conservationists - after a damning report confirmed there were 400 in the past 15 years in Scotland.

RSPB'S Birdcrime Report reveals the incidents were among a total of 1529 in the UK confirmed between 2009-2023.

Protected birds shot, trapped and illegally killed included golden eagles, hen harriers, white-tailed eagles and goshawks, all of which have nationally important populations in Scotland.

Others targeted included buzzards, peregrine falcons and red kites.
