MOTHERWELL manager Stuart Kettlewell branded his side's display awful and claimed they'll get no Premiership points if they perform as poorly in the league.

The Fir Park outfit scraped into a last 16 Premier Sports Cup tie with Kilmarnock after a 0-0 draw with Partick Thistle with the visitors grabbing the bonus point 3-1 on penalties.

And Kettlewell claimed their spot kicks, with Steve Seddon, Stephen O'Donnell and Dylan Wells all missing, was symptomatic of a dire display that saw them booed off.

The frustrated Well boss says his side lacked courage, commitment and energy.

And he felt he showed more of that on the touchline when frustrations threatened to boil over as he was booked by referee David Dickinson for a heated second-half exchange with Partick's Dan MacKay.

Kettlewell, who is set to sign Aussie international Apostolos Stamatelpoulos, said: "It was an awful performance.
