SETTLER SURGE ON WEST BANK

ISRAELI settler violence in the West Bank against Palestinians has soared since the October 7 Hamas attack.

Locals say settlers have become emboldened by the Israeli military taking a hard-line against Palestinians since the Gaza war broke out.

The village of Beitin has been attacked several times, leaving a 17-year-old boy shot dead and another seriously injured.

Forty marauding settlers attacked three times in one day, armed with assault rifles and attempting to torch outer village homes.

Retired teacher Omar Assaf, 74, was seized at gunpoint in his home in Altira and imprisoned for the 10th time after a lifetime of being an activist.
