SCOTLAND'S biggest animal welfare charity is urgently seeking homes for four XL bully-type dogs it insists are safe.
The Scottish SPCA made the appeal after the Scottish Government's U-turn on the breed, which will see the first phase of restrictions kick in next week.
The charity, which opposes any ban, branded the Dangerous Dogs Act "outdated", said any dog could be "out of control and dangerous and that its dogs undergo a strict assessment.
Paddington, two; Lex, one; Praline, around two and Duchess, three, have had "enhanced behavioural assessments".

They are living in centres in Glasgow, Aberdeenshire and Lanarkshire.
Two of the dogs are confirmed bullies while the other two may be classified under the breed after formal assessment.
From February 23, it will be an offence to breed, sell, exchange, gift, advertise, abandon or allow a bully to stray in Scotland, and they must be muzzled and on a lead, including in a car.
It will be illegal from July 31 to own one without a certificate.
A Scottish Government spokesman said: "We regularly consulted with the SSPCA and other stakeholders throughout the development of the XL Bully safeguards and will continue to do so."
