STROKE VICTIM ASSAULT THUG DODGES PRISON

A THUG who battered his stroke victim neighbour in a brutal street attack has avoided a prison sentence.

Allan Whitelaw, 53, assaulted Alan Roy as he made his way home from a shopping trip to Lidl.

Alan, 53, was left with grotesque injuries after suffering three facial fractures and a broken back.

He has suffered physically and emotionally as a result of the attack in Milton, Glasgow, and still gets flashbacks.

The road where the attack took place was covered in blood at the time of the crime and Alan had to be rushed to hospital for a CT scan.

Former railway worker Alan, who was forced to retire from his job after his stroke, is now also too afraid to leave his home since the ordeal.
