SCOTS music star Joe Egan built a £1.4million fortune from song writing before his death.The Stealers Wheel star, 77, had hits including Stuck in the Middle With You.Egan, of Paisley, had a music publishing business that controlled his earnings from a 30-year career.The last set of accounts lodged at Companies House revealed Baby Bun Music Ltd had £1,317,888 in cash reserves.The firm processed royalty payments from Egan's career. He died on July 6. The news was confirmed by a family member of former Stealers Wheel bandmate Gerry Rafferty.A statement read: "Very sad news that the other half of Stealers Wheel, Joe Egan, passed away peacefully on Saturday with his nearest and dearest around him. I will always remember him as a sweet and gentle soul. May he rest in peace."Stealers Wheel broke up in 1975. The group were best known for their 1973 debut single Stuck in the Middle With You which later featured in Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs.Egan co-wrote the hit with Rafferty and it rose to No8 in the UK charts.Fans paid tribute.
