Tragic Gerald, 21, dies 4 days after disease discovery

A YOUNG Scot has died four days after he was diagnosed with cancer.

Gerald Green, 21, had been suffering from back pain in the days before he lost his life.

The Paisley man initially thought he needed a new bed but then he began to be sick.

He had hidden his symptoms from his parents at first but his mum Paula rushed him to the Royal Alexandra Hospital on January 19 immediately after she learned he had also been coughing up blood.

Gerald was found to be severely anaemic and was given surgery to drain his kidney.

He stopped breathing on the operating table and doctors resuscitated him before putting him into an induced coma in a desperate attempt to save his life.
